At the University of Nebraska we value knowledge. We invest in professional development opportunities that keep Extension professionals on the cutting edge. These training experiences give our professionals the latest skills to get the job done.
You can receive up-to-date training in your subject matter area as well as opportunities to grow personally. These trainings include opportunities on campus as well as regional and national conferences. We also provide training via the web, satellite and PolyCom to accommodate busy schedules and personal commitments. Each Extension professional has a development plan to build strengths and expand knowledge. Opportunities for professional development can be funded using state, district or local dollars or as part of a grant or educational program. As an Extension professional you will be:
- Subject matter competent and have a mastery of a discipline and understanding of the research base and be technically proficient.
- Skilled communicator with excellent written and verbal skills and knowledge of supporting technology.
- Inclusive and aware of the commitment to serve all members of the community.
